I submitted my resume to Career Services last week for review, and I just got it back in my mail folder today with a green sheet saying it was good to go. Yay! After I had a Career Advisor and a 2nd year Marketing Group member review it, I would've been surprised if there were any mistakes left to correct.
This week has been very busy. I had LEAD class on Monday afternoon. The module was on Conflict Management. We learned about the different types of negotiating styles: competing, collaborating, compromising, avoiding, and accommodating. Through the role plays we did, we learned how to identify the opposing side's negotiating style and techniques for relating and ultimately, reaching a valuable agreement for both sides. I was pretty happy with the way my role play turned out.
Yesterday I met with my interview practice group again. We practiced answering fit questions, which I found a lot easier since the last Career Services session. They taught us about identifying times we were in "flow," which means when we are so focused and passionate about a task that time flies by. I thought of some examples from work when I was in flow and used them as answers to fit questions. Lori said that she could tell I was more passionate about what I was talking about because I spoke excitedly.
I'm really looking forward to the weekend. It's the GSB Belgian Halloween Party!
